Strengthening Families

Parenting Courses

Being a parent is hard work, and most parents have difficulties dealing with their child's behaviour at some point.  We are running a course that aims to help you feel more confident in dealing with your child's behaviour.

This Incredible Years Parenting Course is for parents and carers of children (usually up to primary school age).  There are usually between 10- 12 people in each course with 2 group leaders.  During the sessions we will talk about what it means to be a parent, and discuss ways of improving your relationship with your child.  Through group discussions we'll give practical advice about dealing with common problems like temper tantrums, fighting and swearing etc. You'll have a chance to talk about the high and low points of trying to put them into practice.

This course is run by our fully qualified incredible years practitioner and is open to parents of toddlers up to primary school age.

Our next course starts on 22nd February 2012 between 12.30 and 2.30pm, at St. Andrew's Community Network Offices in Roscoe Primary School.

The course will run the same time each week until the 30th May 2012 (with a break for Easter).  There are informal information sessions on Wednesday 1st February and Wednesday 8th February to you to find out more.

Further information is available from Denise Williams, our Family Support Worker, on 0151 2263406, or by email denise@changingclubmoor.org.uk.
